Volkswagen of America Inc. has announced that the Jetta and Jetta GLI will feature refined styling and enhanced value for the year 2025. Since its debut in 1980, the Jetta has remained Volkswagen’s best-selling car in North America, thanks to its blend of style, quality, safety, and value. The 2025 models boast updated exterior designs, new interior décor, advanced technology, and a lower starting price of $21,995 for the automatic-transmission model compared to the 2024 version.
Externally, the Jetta exhibits modernized front and rear treatments, new wheel options, and fresh colors that enhance its distinctive look. The updated front fascia includes redesigned upper and lower grilles, new light-emitting diode headlights, and an available light bar starting on Sport models. A redesigned trunk lid with a standard light bar connecting the taillights adds elegance to the rear. The SE models feature new 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, while the SEL and GLI models come with 18-inch alloys. Optional black-wheel packages are available for the SE and GLI. Additionally, two new exterior colors, Monterey Blue Pearl and Monument Gray, elevate the Jetta’s upscale appearance.
Inside, the Jetta boasts a redesigned dashboard with new colors and décor across all models. The upper dashboard features a three-bar design that directs attention to the new floating touchscreen infotainment system, now equipped with an eight-inch display as standard. The Climatronic Touch automatic climate control, also standard, contributes to the sleek center stack design. SE models now include comfort and convenience features previously exclusive to SEL models, such as SiriusXM satellite radio, voice control, wireless charging, and wireless App-Connect. A sunroof is an optional feature.
The Jetta retains its 1.5-liter, 158-horsepower turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, offering sporty performance and excellent highway fuel economy. The Jetta GLI is powered by a 2.0-liter engine delivering 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, available with either a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.
The sport-tuned Jetta GLI, often referred to as the “GTI with a trunk,” includes larger brakes, an electronically-controlled torque-sensing limited-slip differential, the XDS electronic differential lock, the DCC adaptive damping system, and a unique sport exhaust system.
The IQ.DRIVE system is standard on all 2025 Jetta and Jetta GLI models. This system uses front and rear radar, a front camera, and multiple ultrasound sensors to offer features like Travel Assist, Front Assist, Active Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, and Emergency Assist.
The updated Jetta lineup is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships by the end of the third quarter of 2024.
