But that’s just a requisite part of the game these days. As he leaves his teens behind, Choppa is grabbing his machete and hacking his way through a forest of complicated relationships. “Say that you love me, it’s really a scheme,” he raps on “Do It Again,” which finds the Southern trap dude experimenting with club rap - a punchy genre that’s exploding around Philly and Jersey. 2Rare is one of the genre’s young stars, and he also shines on the track.
