You can pick up a gravity feed paint gun at Harbor Freight for $12, or you can spend in the $1,000 range for a Sata, Iwata, or DeVilbiss. The Euro 5200 by MG Dist fits somewhere in the middle with pricing but performs closer to the top. We sprayed everything from primers/sealers to single-stage, to metallics and clears. Impressive results were gained in all areas, which was to our surprise. Rob from Rob's Auto Restoration Services used the Euro 5200 on several jobs, including some of the body panels on our 1971 Olds 442 build for STR. Metallics were the toughest to get dialed in, so layout of the metallics stayed consistent. Once we found the right settings, the metallic basecoat was uniform and matched very well panel to panel. You can pick up the Euro 5200 paint gun for $250. Ergonomically, this is one of the lightest and most comfortable paint guns we've put in our hands. |
