| Video Discription | Acute bronchitis is a combination of symptom related to cough, cold, breathing difficulties, and associated wheezing in some instances, the carious causes of acute bronchitis could be an infection or an allergy. Infection could be bacterial or viral. Allergies could be seasonal or it could be perennial. In kids we have this as a part of allergy related symptoms and viral infections and in adults and in people who smoke, they could be having smoker’s bronchitis which could last for a few days to a few weeks sometimes. the common way in which we diagnose an acute bronchitis is by combination of history and by physical examination , findings, certain investigations which would include a basic blood test, allergy panel and a chest x-ray and in other instances we also ask for a lung function test. Based on these investigations, we would make a diagnosis of acute bronchitis and treat them accordingly. |
