| Video Discription | Michele Alboreto was a well known Formula 1 driver. He raced in Formula 1 from 1981 to 1994. Later, he started racing in other championships (such as DTM, IMSA) and he raced in the 24 hours of Le Mans as well. Sadly, he was killed during a testing session on the circuit of Lausitzring, 25/04/2001, while preparing for the 24 hours of Le Mans. A tyre got punctured, it kept losing pressure until it exploded. Alboreto went off the track, hitting some barriers on the right and flipped. The rollbar was ripped from the car. Alboreto was killed instantly. This recording comes from a report of the following day, made by Rai. The crash wasn't caught on camera. It's quite rare to have these aftermath images, so, please, don't ask for the video of the crash, since it doesn't exist. |
