| Video Discription | With the world locked in the Covid-19 pandemic, let's take a trip back to better times. In September 2019, GMRC ALCo RS-1 Number 405 was brought back into excursion service following extensive repairs, starting with the Glory Days of the Railroad event. I made it down to White River Junction early this year, just to witness the first generation workhorse fire up, and the small group who gathered were not disappointed. Myself and two other railfans set up at three different locations along the route, with the others shooting stills while I recorded twice at each location, out and back. The sun certainly enjoyed playing with our lighting, often ducking behind a cloud just as the train came into view. I rounded out the trip riding the last excursion onboard cab car 1317. Note, I had permission from the crew to ride there, and a conductor was in the car with me the entire time. It's a lot of fun riding this way, feeling the harmonic rocking of the train on jointed rail, but I did forget the loud K3L horn was a mere 20 or so feet from my ears...
