Ambedkar Jayanti, also known as Bhim Jayanti, is celebrated on April 14 every year to honor the memory of "Father of Indian Constitution" Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary.
On this occasion, let's know a little more about our hero who gave birth to Indian consitution.
Born on 1891, Ambedkar was not only the principal architect of the Indian Constitution, but the first Law Minister of Independent India, Indian jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer
B.R. Ambedkar devoted his life to ending discrimination against the "untouchables" and advocating for the rights of women and laborers. He fought for equality, fair treatment, and better opportunities for these marginalized groups throughout his life.
Hence, his birth anniversary is also known as 'Equality Day'.
While remembering him, let's talk about 5 contributions that BR Ambedkar made to India.
First of all we will talk about Architect of the Indian Constitution, Ambedkar played a pivotal role in drafting the Constitution of India. As the Chairman of the Drafting Committee, he ensured that the Constitution enshrined principles of equality, justice, and fundamental rights for all citizens.
Secondly Ambedkar tirelessly fought against caste-based discrimination and untouchability. He campaigned for the rights and upliftment of Dalits and other marginalized communities.
If we move on to the third aspect then
B.R. Ambedkar strongly supported women's rights. He wanted women to have the same chances and rights as men. He worked hard to make sure women could get education, find jobs, and have rights to own property.
fourth key contribution is Labour Rights, Ambedkar championed the rights of laborers and workers. He advocated for better working conditions, fair wages, and the right to organize and bargain collectively.
He gave directing to Indian eduction by emphasizing the importance of education as a tool for empowerment. He worked to expand educational opportunities for marginalized communities, including Dalits and women.
Now talking about Ambedkar's family then his grandson Ambedkar Prakash Yashwant is an Indian politician who founded the Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh party in 1994. He was elected into the parliament from Akola constituency in 1998 and 1999. He was a member of the Rajya Sabha during 1990 - 1996. Prakash Ambedkar founded new political party the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi in 2018.

Ambedkar's contributions to India include his efforts towards social justice, equality, and empowerment of marginalized communities, as well as his instrumental role in shaping the country's Constitution.
