You’re watching the Fall 2023 University Admissions video series. We’re sharing what you should do to get into your dream university in the Fall of 2023. We’re on Step 1 of 27, which is Choose your Major. This step has four items: Visit 10 to 15 University Websites Explore Majors Understand Curriculum Details Narrow down to 2 to 3 Majors Let’s look at the fourth and final item of Step 1: Narrow down to 2 to 3 majors. The recommended time to complete this item is March 15th to March 31st of 2022. You explored different universities and majors in the previous items and researched the curriculum. Your goal is to narrow this down to 2 to 3 majors that align with the area of study you’re most interested in. You will likely end up with 5, 6, or even more majors that match the area of study you’re interested in. Based on your understanding of the curriculum, you will know subtle differences between them. Your goal is to narrow this down to 2 to 3 majors that align closest to the area of study you’re interested in. Depending on the field of study, not everyone ends up with 5 to 6 majors at the beginning of this step. If you just have 1, 2, or even 3, don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. The recommended time to complete this item is March 15th to March 31st of 2022. If you’re past those dates, catch up as quickly without compromising the quality of work. However, you should do your best to stick to the suggested dates from here on out.
