| Video Discription | In this episode of Awful Archaeology I discuss the Orontius Finaeus Map. Created in the early 1500s, this map outlines much of the known world and covers the planet from pole to pole. However the south pole has been the subject of debate since the maps rediscovery by Charles Hapgood. According to conspiracy theorists the map shows the the outline of an ice free Antarctica. In their eyes, this proves that Antarctica had been known about and mapped for far longer than we have been told as well as debunking anthropogenic climate change.
