The Constituent Assembly went through length and breadth our country and in fact studied several other constitutions of the world and took a period of 2 years, 11 months and 18 days to finally come up with the lengthiest written Constitution in the world. Fundamental Rights are those rights which ensure enjoyment of basic freedom that the Indian Constitution provides us. In this session, we discuss how these FRs were brought to our Constitution and how have they evolved so far. We will also discuss the first kind of Fundamental Right, which is Right to Equality mentioned under Article 14-18 of the Constitution.
