Named "TAMURA SHIPPO CLOISONE ENAMEL" In japan, this Traditional craft call "Owari Shippo". Owari Shippo, also known as Shippo-Yaki, is a traditional craft that originated in Shippo-cho in Aichi Prefecture. The technique combines metalwork and glasswork in an ornamental craft techniquerecalling cloisonné enamelling. Crystal glass is baked onto metal, which is then painted with decorative designs using gold and silver. This is a process-intensive, time-intensive craft, renowned for its vivid colours and the delicacy of its decoration; the finished pieces are often described as resembling “pictures painted with jewels” or as “beautifully arranged jewels”.
