The plea seeks to get additional water to Delhi from Haryana, UP and Himachal Pradesh for at least a month. In it’s plea, the Delhi government has informed the Supreme Court that the city’s water demand has surged due to ongoing heatwave conditions and they are urging neighboring Haryana to release additional water for a month to address the crisis. Emphasizing the collective responsibility to meet Delhi’s water needs, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal called on the BJP to intervene with its governments in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh for water provision.
