Eddy goes on strike against Rolf because he believes he is not a fair employer to Ed. Meanwhile, Double D speaks with Rolf to settle the dispute. This clip is from the episode, "Will Work for Ed." This clip can be used to illustrate labor strikes and collective bargaining in social studies. Labor strikes were an important tactic used by factory workers in the late 1800s and early 1900s to gain leverage over their employers and receive higher pay, more humane working conditions, and other desires. Similar to the factory workers, Eddy goes on strike on Ed's behalf in an attempt to gain something from the initiative, although it's not clear what he wants. Double D and Rolf illustrate collective bargaining through their negotiation. While we are not informed of the details of their discussion, it is evident they are discussing Ed's employment and well-being and have come to an agreement by the end of their negotiation.
