| Video Discription | I've been working at Fintech startups, Clear Street & Justworks, for over 2 years ever since graduating from university, and interviewed and have friends in many other ones. In this video I rank 10 popular Fintech companies based on their compensation, work-life balance, and culture--I know I am covering grounds that are highly subjective--the actual experience at a company may very well be different than what I am describing, so please view what I am saying as informative and not definitive. Working at Fintech will expose you to a whole industry of payments, capital markets, finance, compliance, and many other domains based on the specific company you'll work at. There are many benefits: Interesting work (at least in my opinion), a growing industry that's being more enabled than ever thanks to technology, and compensation that's often on par with that of large tech companies. On the other hand, work can sometimes be stressful since it revolves around sensitive things such as bank accounts, money, etc. I've used the compensation of a software and senior software engineer as a benchmark to how much the company pays, and from my experience, companies that pay a premium on one role will likely pay a premium for other roles--though this is not globally true across companies and roles, so use it more so as a rule of thumb as I do.
