IT WAS RELEASED FOR BASS PLAYERS BUT WORKS FINE WITH REGULAR ELECTRIC GUITAR AND KEYBOARDS/SYNTHESIZERS AS WELL. IT IS NOT NOISY, NOT ADDING UNWANTED SOUNDS WITH THE DESIRED SIGNAL OUTPUT. THE ACHILLES HEEL OF THIS VINTAGE PEDAL IS THE WONKY 1/4 INCH INPUTS FOR CABLE INSERTION. THEY TYPICALLY BECOME VERY LOOSE OVER TIME AND WILL SHORT OUT -- AND THUS REQUIRE RESOLDERING, STABILIZATION OR EVEN TOTAL REPLACEMENT. "A simple resoldering of all the socket connections to the circuit board will solve the problem. " CONSIDERING THIS KNOWN ISSUE, I ADVISE PROSPECTIVE COLLECTORS OF VINTAGE GEAR TO CONSIDER THE TIME AND COST FOR AN INEVITABLE REPAIR OF THE INPUTS. I WOULD ADVISE PEDAL COLLECTORS NOT TO PAY MUCH OVER $70 FOR ONE OF THESE BABIES. I JUST BOUGHT THIS ONE RECENTLY OFF MERCARI AND ANOTHER ON EBAY. SO, THEY ARE AVAILABLE IN THAT $60 TO $70 PRICE RANGE. THE GUITAR VERSION OF THIS PEDAL (THE ZOOM GFX-707) DOES NOT HAVE AS MANY UNIQUE FX AS THIS BASS PEDAL. THE GUITAR VERSION IS LOADED WITH DISTORTION & OVERDRIVE SETTINGS -- WHERE THIS PEDAL HAS MANY OTHER CHOICES OF PRESETS OTHER THAN SIMPLE OVERDRIVE OPTIONS.
