The venue is to be the first venue in the world to host the opening and closing ceremonies for both summer and winter Olympic Games. Venues for the 2022 games are located in three clustered areas - Beijing's urban region, the city's suburban district of Yanqing, and the city of Zhangjiakou 180 kilometers from Beijing. By Saturday, 53 of 57 construction projects for the Olympics in Beijing and the Yanqing cluster had been completed, with the remaining four set to finish by the end of the year. The National Alpine Ski Center, the National Snowmobile and Sled Center, the Yanqing Winter Olympic Village, the three key venue construction projects in Yanqing have all finished construction and passed inspection as of Thursday.
