| Video Discription | This is part one of the two videos I'll be sharing for Archie's sales ad. It's mostly to break the stereotype people often have against young Thoroughbreds, especially chestnuts but also just a fun way to show how cool of a cucumber Archie is. Flat and jumping video to come. Archie is a 16.2 hand 4 year old Thoroughbred gelding by Skimming. Jockey Club registered as Penny’s Bracken but shown under and TIP registered as Archimedes. He ran twice as a two year old but was just too slow and after his owner passed away, the trainer opted to find him a more suitable home as a riding horse. Archie retired without injury and was given the winter off before being restarted lightly as a 3 year old. Since then, he’s been exposed to a number of things such as traffic on the roads, hacking out both in company and alone as well as the busy nature of shows. He is incredibly well minded and takes everything in a stride. Archie has been lightly started over fences this year and is currently schooling 2’-2’3” courses and 2’6” through grids, he has been kept low and jumped minimally simply due to his age. Archie is exceptionally brave and will take you to any jump, he doesn’t bat an eye at new fillers and is the same horse whether he is jumping at home or off property. He could go in a number of directions and would be well suited as a hunter, jumper or event horse. Due to his age and the fact that he is still green and needs a rider who is able to support him in his continued development, I would recommend him as a horse for a competent and confident junior rider or amateur who is able to bring him along on their own or with the support of a trainer. He is very kind and forgiving but still needs a confident, good handed rider to help finish him. He learns quickly and is a very simple ride who is easy to put together and is always the same, even after weeks off. Currently, Archie lives outside 24/7 in turnout with other horses and does well with that, even through the winter. Asking $8,500 Canadian. Located in Langley, BC.
