The dynamic looks and the throaty growl of the car’s naturally-aspirated 5.4-litre 700bhp V8 engine captured attention as the BT62 took to the Goodwood course, which is fittingly a hillclimb – fittingly because the late Sir Jack Brabham who originally founded the Brabham dynasty was a hillclimb competitor in his early days of racing. 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of Niki Lauda’s victory in the Swedish Grand Prix at Anderstorp behind the wheel of the famous Brabham BT46b ‘fan car’ – in recognition of this, the Brabham BT62 was dressed in a livery celebrating that victory. |
