| Video Discription | While it is the goal of "The American Graduate" project to encourage every student to earn a high school diploma, some grade school kids are starting that journey living in single-parent homes, often facing poverty. Teachers alone cannot overcome all of these challenges. "Bridges to Success" is a partnership between the Bridges organization, the Indianapolis Public Schools and United Way. This video tells the story of how the collective impact of these three groups, when partnered with a dynamic local benefactor, the Glick Fund, brought additional reading and math tutoring, mentoring, technological improvements, after-school programs and transportation to-and-from-them to the at-risk children at three eastside Indianapolis schools . . . where tests scores now are showing significant improvement as student confidence soars. http://wfyi.org/AmericanGraduate/home.asp |
