There are two main types of meter and they are usually under the stairs or outside. Here's how to take your reading: Digital Electric Meter: 1) Look at the five digits to the left of the decimal point, reading from left to right. 2) Ignore the other 3 numbers which may be shown in red. Imperial Meter: 1) Look at the four large digits reading from left to right. 2) You can ignore the two smaller digits in red.
