| Video Discription | The BBC programme chronicling the British Lions rugby tour of South Africa in 1974 when apartheid was in place in that country and the effects that had on the country at that time. The video deals with the bonding of the Lions players on that tour and the colourful stories told about the tour in which the purpose was beat the South Africans in their own country... something that had never been done before. The programme shows how the townships came out in great numbers to support the British Lions. The star of the video is "The Broon frae Troon", the late lamented Scotland lock Gordon Brown who died at the absurdly young age of 53 in March 2001. His descriptions of occurrences within the tour are beautiful pen pictures and his dry, laconic delivery is a joy to watch.
