| Video Discription | I headed to Walmart to review canned foods and let you know what to buy and avoid. Some canned foods(tomatoes and tuna) are not only tasty, but an excellent source of nutrition. While others(canned soup and veggies) are tough to find good ones that are loaded with a bunch of stuff you don't want to put in your body. XOXO Order our new keto cookbook: https://amzn.to/2TOHWJL SALT LEVELS IN CANNED FOODS: Consider that there is 2.325mg of salt in one teaspoon, so when a can of soup as 800mg of salt, that is only 1/3 of a teaspoon. While processed foods tend to have a bit more salt than you might cook with at home, I would not be too concerned unless you have high blood pressure. If that is the case, I would buy low sodium products and cook with less sodium(use unrefined salt instead of processed white salt), and squeeze lemon juice in the dish at the end. Acid will heighten the flavor and is a a great replacement for salt. The issue with processed foods is not just the salt, it's the combo of salt, sugar, low quality fat, and preservatives. A soup like Amy's, which has super clean ingredients, doesn't bother me with the amount of salt they use.
