As a true pioneer in his own right he championed this sound from day one. But it all started back in 1993 he was asked to DJ at the legendary Café Del Mar. This gig came up after he bumped into José Padilla in Tag Records and they got talking about music and records. He's first stint at this famous Ibiza bar was a massive success and the following year José booked him for the full season as resident. This unique residency lead to the start of compiling records for various labels and Phil was the very first to compile and mix a UK chill out compilation "Original Chill Out". A string of other compilations followed incl. a couple in the Café Del Mar and The Real Ibiza series. So I think it's safe to say that Phil Mison is one of the originators on the Balearic chill-out scene and one who have been there from the very start.
