This is substantiated through observation of various funeral rites, interpretations of life, and ultimately how we, as the living, relate to mourning/grieving. This subject is not easily confronted without discourse. Such an objective conjures up themes of ghosts, necromancy, afterlife hypothesis, deities, and at times disparate beliefs. This session, as many that have come before it, overall is interested in the universality of approach and how that universality has changed collectively throughout time. Much of the subject matter presented in this session will become a basis for more advanced sessions later in the course.
