As a reaction to mass migration from the countryside to the cities, gigantic superstructures are being built that surpass the volume and height of any buildings in Europe or the US. They also possess forms and functions that have never existed before. The documentary showcases eight projects, in the cities Chongqing, Behai, Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Ningbo and Wuhan.
