This is definitely a good song. I like the beat a lot and the lyrics go well with it. I don't know much about Clipse. All I really know is that their names are Malice, who is on the left in the first picture, and Pusha T, who is on the right, and that they're brothers. Pusha T does the first verse and Malice does the third verse. Clipse been around for a while, and they are very respected rappers. They have put out a lot of good songs. I also have "Kinda Like a Big Deal" and "I'm Good" from Clipse as well but "Popular Demand" is by far my favorite. They have also featured Cam'ron and Pharrell in this song. That is Cam'Ron in the third picture and he performs the second verse. I have some of Cam'ron's stuff. It's ok. My favorite from him is probably "Hey Ma" but he isn't that great. It shows in this song too because in my opinion his verse is the weakest. I don't have any of Pharrell's work so I can't really say much about him but he did a good job on the chorus so I'll have to check him out.
Peace,
J-Man
Lyrics:
(Pharrell)
Uh, Mami, you miss me, don't you?
Haters, wish you could hit me, don't you?
Heh You should call me uncle
I understand, I'm back by popular demand
That new CL slide
Outside of Popeyes, eatin' chicken and fries
Yeah, come holla at your uncle
I understand, I'm back by popular demand
(Pusha T)
You are now listening to the all-time phenomenal
Used to bag work in VA at Econo Lo
Now I'm layin' out at the Delino though
But don't get it twisted, the Uzi's in the lining though
Hollow tip, dum-dums, and flesh like piranhas know
Such a scary thing to hear the souls sing geronimo
Pull up in the CL, the shit's astronomical
Hoes linin' up on the curb, they fall like dominoes
Used to have this white bitch, she looked like Madonna though
Heard that she fuckin' LeBron, but shit, I don't know
Like that, Bron-Bron? I had that long time ago
Butt-naked, on the balcony at the Dallino
I mean the Delano, I mean Pharrell'll know
The head shop bitch from DC? Hey, P, let 'em know
Yeah, that bitch was hot
But it was time to go
Them hoes come in eeny, meeny, minie moe
(Pharrell)
Mami, you miss me, don't you?
Haters, wish you could hit me, don't you?
Heh, You should call me uncle
I understand, I'm back by popular demand
That new CL slide
Outside of Popeyes, eatin' chicken and fries
Yeah, come holla at your uncle
I understand, I'm back by popular demand
(Cam'ron)
Why wouldn't I be? Look at shorty, Damn
Uh, mami good down to the cuticles, I'm Cam
What's your name, beautiful like, Cam
I could get used to you, Ram
If you knew what I used to do
But call me, I'm uncle, what, Uncle Cam?
I tax em', Like who? Like Uncle Sam
From the jungle fam, where niggas bundle grams
Fumble or you crumble, get murked on the humble and
And the gat on, the belt on the hip
And I keep it for real with the Clipse
Drive a hard bargain
I'm Harlem's only gorgorgan, car foreign
Duh, the man st-st-stutter by
I knew your moms well, tell your mother hi
I'm the other guy that got your mother high
Up like a caterpillar, I make butter fly
(Pharrell)
Mami, you miss me, don't you?
Haters, wish you could hit me, don't you?
Heh You should call me uncle
I understand, I'm back by popular demand
That new CL slide
Outside of Popeyes, eatin' chicken and fries
Yeah, come holla at your uncle
I understand, I'm back by popular demand
(Malice)
God damn, the boy's back
For pushing a mountain of snow-caps or avoiding the Kojak
The pioneer of the coke rap
I'm dancin' with the stars, steppin' on blow, doin' the toe-tap
The dope return like I had it on low jack
It made its way home like a road map
I followed this
If I misled any kid that's fatherless
That burden's on my soul as long as I exist
Generation lost, they sayin' they can't reach us
The answer is the Lord, like Saturday night fever
I kept it in the crib, it made me a light sleeper
Whether watchin' for the Feds or avoiding the grim reaper
Way deeper than rap
Money and hoes, it's deeper than that
Fight the temptation, but it keep comin' back
Money stack to the ceiling just as quick as it dispense
Who knew those commas meant you could lose your common sense?
Before it's too late, all I can tell 'em is repent
(Pharrell)
Mami, you miss me, don't you?
Haters, wish you could hit me, don't you?
Heh You should call me uncle
I understand, I'm back by popular demand
That new CL slide
Outside of Popeyes, eatin' chicken and fries
Yeah, come holla at your uncle
I understand, I'm back by popular demand
