Boil 300ml water and place the cod fillets in a heatproof bowl. 2. Pour the boiling water over the cod. 3. Drain the boiling water and wash the cod fillets under cold water. 4. Dry the surface of the cod with kitchen paper and coat with 1 tbsp corn starch. (Make sure it’s covered on both sides.) 5. Take a frying pan and heat on medium. 6. Drizzle 1 tbsp sesame oil into the pan and let it heat up. 7. Place the cod fillets in the pan with the skin side down. 8. Fry until the skin is browned and crispy, then flip them over. 9. Add 1 ½ tbsp Soy Sauce, 1 ½ tbsp mirin, 1 ½ tbsp sake and 1 tsp sugar to the pan. 10. Mix it around the fillets and fry until sauce is thickened. 11. Once thick and glossy, stir the cod around the pan so that the sauce sticks to it. 12. Serve with rice and miso soup and enjoy! #teriyaki #codrecipe #japaneserecipe #cookingchannel |
