After Supreme Court restored the Nabam Tuki led Congress Government in Arunachal Pradesh, his fate now is in the hands of 20 rebel Congress MLAs. In 2014, the Congress had 42 of 60 MLAs in the state, aclear 2/3rd majority. But in December last year, 20 rebel MLAs break way putting the Congress Government in minority. The Congress will have to face a floor test and would need the support of 20 rebel lawmakers. Mean while in a scathing order, Supreme Court has said that the Governors decision to conduct off the assembly to remove the Speaker and the Chief Minister was unconstitutional. The verdict is crucial not only for the state of Arunachal Pradesh but will also define the power relations between the Centre and the state.
