If I had to trace back to where it all began, I would have to credit my mom who has been cooking since the age of 8. Naturally, I grew up helping out in the kitchen where chopping, dicing and slicing became second nature. Fast forward to my backpacking trip across Japan last year, I realized what brought me the most joy was taking cooking classes for dishes from omurice to gyozas. Despite being in a foreign country, I felt right at home in the kitchens of the local chefs. This year, I decided to challenge myself to take this hobby to the next level and go through the grilling (pun intended) training of a professional chef. If I'm being honest, I'm still second guessing myself every ever day, but at the same time, I'm also still in disbelief I'm learning all the techniques and recipes of one of the most well respected chefs in the world.
