Today, we're gonna be taking a look at these Curt Adapter Rails for your factory towing prep package on our 2024 GMC Sierra 2500. It's gonna adapt that factory puck system and basically turn it into a set of industry standard rails. So if you've got a 5th wheel hitch that you had maybe from a previous truck, you can still utilize it even though your new truck has the prep package. Let's check it out. Whenever you're ready to set up, your 5th wheel will just drop in and pin into place. So the whole base lifts out whenever it's unlocked, and drops in whenever you're ready to go. And up top, you've got these quarter turn levers, which we will turn in. And secure with the included pin and retaining clip. Could always swap this out for a lock if you wanted to for extra security. But that's gonna keep them from being opened and keep it locked in. Now, the adapter rails have a 25,000 pound weight capacity here, so keep that in mind when you're considering the 5th wheel you're bringing into this, and your vehicle and what it can handle. Always go by the lowest rated component in your towing system. But that's going to be pretty strong for the adapter rails here, and I don't think you should have to worry about it too much. If you have something like a B&W Slider, there may be some compatibility differences, and the adapter may not work exactly how you want it to, so keep that in mind. And because it's quite a bit taller, it does add 2 1/2 inches to the height of where your 5th wheel would normally be set. So just keep that in mind again as you're setting everything up with your truck and trailer combination, and looking to see if this adapter will work with the existing 5th wheel you have.
