| Video Discription | Our first stay in the Ocala National Forest as RV full timers was at Salt Springs in March (reopened May 22, 2020).Come swim in the 72 degree crystal clear salty waters, see Blue Crabs, Striped Bass, and Mullets, dive into a crevice 20 feet deep- AND come back out- haha. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and boats at the nearby marina. Stay until the end of the video to see us on The Yearling Trail and part of Florida's Scenic Trail hiking with Scrappy. The recreation area is located in the lush, semi-tropical setting of central Florida. Within the recreation area is a natural spring rising from vertical fissures (cracks) from deep within the earth. The presence of potassium, magnesium and sodium salts give the waters in the spring a slight salinity. Hence the name Salt Springs. Ocala National Forest Recreation Area Pass - $60 per person; good from date of purchase through end of the year. Provides entrance to our concession-managed recreation areas: Juniper Springs, Salt Springs, Alexander Springs, Silver Glen Springs, Clearwater Lake, and Wildcat Lake. Purchase at a recreation area entrance station. $6.50 per person day use fee $10.00 parking fee at Salt Springs Marina $8.00 dump station fee for non-campers Camping $34.00 per full hookup campsite per night in the Salt Springs Recreation Area campground. Sites can handle RVs. 106 sites. $23.00 for primitive campsites, no hookups. 54 tent sites. Fees are subject to change without notification. Salt Springs Recreation Area is at the north end of the small town of Salt Springs, near the intersection of SR 19 and CR 314.
