DBA vs DBC - Which ETF Outperforms The Other? (Which ETF You Should Buy?). In this comparison video I will talk about DBA vs DBC.
So, the main difference between them is their performance.
DBA, the Invesco DB Agriculture Fund, has attained 7.91% in returns in the last year. However, DBA has been underperforming over the past ten years compared to DBC. Conversely, DBC, the Invesco DB Commodity Index Tracking Fund, has achieved -0.45% in returns. However, DBC has performed with annual returns of -0.92% for the past ten years compared to DBA's -1.25%.
Although DBA has underperformed in the past, it currently has higher returns.
Dividend yields
Statistics show that DBC has yielded higher dividend returns for twelve months. The dividends have been trailing at 5.01%. Conversely, DBA has been trailing at 4.33% in dividend yields for its investors.
Therefore, DBC has higher dividend yields.
Volatility measure
DBC prices tend to fluctuate heavily, making it risky to invest in the fund. DBC volatility is at 3.35%. On the other hand, DBA has a volatility measure of 2.79% when the market prices fluctuate.
Therefore, DBA is less volatile.
Expense Ratio Comparison
The DBA expense ratio is estimated at 0.94%, making it more expensive. On the other hand, DBC's expense ratio is at 0.85%.
Therefore, DBC is less costly.
But do they have any similarities?
Yes. Both DBA and DBC issuers are Invesco and have similar top holdings, such as the United States Treasury Bills and Invesco Short-Term Treasury. Additionally, both ETFs aim to replicate the underlying index's performance.
To sum up, which is better, DBA or DBC?
What I like most about DBC is its high dividend yields, which are attractive to any investor. Its expense ratio is also cheaper for anyone who wants a cost-effective fund. However, I don’t like DBC's riskiness regarding volatility measures.
On the other hand, I like DBA's performance in the last year as it assures me of higher future returns and is less volatile. However, I wouldn't say I like its high expense ratio. But though I like both ETFs, I choose DBA as the overall winner, mainly because of its high returns.
