| Video Discription | Congress leader and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat on Friday won the Uttarakhand by-polls by 19,605 votes. The 67 year-old politician won the polls from Dharchula seat and defeated BJP’s BD Joshi in a direct face-off between the two national parties. Repolls were held on the Dharcuhla seat following a complaint against the presiding officer along with his team that they left the booth while the Electronic Voting Machines were on. The Dharchula seat was left vacant for Rawat by the Congress leader Harish Dhami who was the MLA from the constituency. He resigned in June this year. After a total rout in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections, this is a minor relief for the Congress party. |
