People with disabilities should have equal access. They have the right to live independently and with dignity in their communities. These rights are protected under the UN Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Canada has promised to implement the Convention. The Accessible Canada Act will remove and prevent barriers facing people with disabilities. Canada must do more to support the full participation of people with disabilities.
