Here is the outline of what we covered: 1) STATIC CAMERA - spend 20% of recording time with zero camera movement —this allows you to slow down mentally when you find an interesting scene —then be more contemplative with your composition before recording —without dynamic camera movement….the scene can be pretty boring, which: forces you to now recruit cinematography fundamentals such as: 🔸identify the subject 🔸anticipate action 🔸see if rule of 3rds or symmetry is preferable 🔸look for: leading lines, visual weight, eliminate distracting elements 🔸decide on foreground/middle ground/background elements 🔸have a whiskey 2) SILHOUETTES —a silhouette places a strong restriction on your camera placement —this severe restriction on camera placement forces you to now make creative decisions within this parameter —forces you to clearly identify the actual subject in the scene —most likely this will require pre-planning: time of day / subject / camera angle —this pre-planning is a HUGE step toward progress of understanding the creative process & controlling the outcome.
