| Video Discription | Two people were killed when dust storms, heavy rains lashed various parts of Delhi-NCR on Monday, 30 May. A 50-year-old man, Kailash, was killed when the balcony of the second floor of a house fell on him in the Jama Masjid area. Another person named Bashir Baba was crushed by a tree in the Angoori Bagh area near Red Fort. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police said that by 8 pm, they had received 294 calls about fallen trees. The rains also brought down the temperature and provided much-needed relief from the searing heat. This was the first storm of ‘severe’ intensity in Delhi since 2018, according to the Indian Meteorological Department. The storm uprooted hundreds of trees, disrupted road and air traffic and damaged vehicles and buildings, including the iconic Jama Masjid. The central dome of the Jama Masjid was damaged due to the heavy rain. |
