A professor of political science at Miami, Haney has various teaching and research interests that range from politics and national issues to world politics and foreign policy. These interests also are reflected in his professional memberships; Haney belongs to the American Political Science Association and the International Studies Association. It's Always Election Season Looking Back at 2012 and Forward to 2016 It already seems like ancient history that Barack Obama was reelected as president of the United States. This session will spend some time reviewing Obama's recent path to victory as well as other winners and losers from 2012. We'll explore the dynamics of the Electoral College and voting trends in the electorate, and we also will discuss some of the issues from the campaign that will loom large in the years to come. It's never too early to start talking about 2016, either! We'll conclude by examining the next presidential election cycle— which already has begun. |
