Privacy, monetization, the composition of our teams, our attitudes toward the community around us... the questions and opinions fly (often via the apps that we've made!). But when was the last time you heard software developers talking seriously about ethics? We changed that with a lunchtime conversation with Shannon Vallor, a philosophy professor from Santa Clara University and one of the leading thinkers about ethics for software developers. Shannon's "Introduction to Software Engineering Ethics" course is now being used in 17 universities on 3 continents and will soon be featured in Communications of the ACM. We asked Shannon to speak briefly about what it means to live "the good life" as software developers and then to talk with us about the big questions we'll face as we do.
