| Video Discription | Schwab and Timmons both owned parcels of land that had previously been owned by the United States government. The broader area was enclosed between geographic barriers: there was a lake on the west and a tall bluff on the east, making it difficult to leave the region without public-road access. Each lot had access to a public road when the titled transferred from the government to the private owners. However, Schwab conveyed away portions of his own lot with public-road access, becoming landlocked. Timmons had a private road. Schwab sought an easement to use the private road, since he was landlocked with no ability to gain access. Schwab v.
