| Video Discription | Romus Valton “RV” Burgin joined the Marine Corps in November 1942, and would see heavy combat in the Pacific Theater of World War II, mostly notably at the Battle of Peleliu and the Battle of Okinawa. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his acts of valor on Okinawa. He is perhaps best known for his portrayal in the HBO miniseries, “The Pacific,” and as comrade of Eugene B. Sledge in his epic memoir, 'With the Old Breed.' A battlefield legend, RV passed away on April 6, 2019. Rest In Peace, Marine, and Semper Fidelis.
