According to a new report from Axios, staffers inside President Biden's White House have told the outlet that they are "miserable" and some aides have fallen into a "black hole" of despair since the presidential debate. These staffers have no idea what's going to happen in either the presidential race or with their own jobs, and this is creating a sense of dread among all of them. Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

According to a report from Axios that came out this past Friday, staffers inside President Biden's White House ever since the disastrous debate performance are miserable. Axios actually spoke to several current staffers inside the Biden administration, and they all spoke, of course, on the condition of anonymity. But here is what one of them had to say about how bad things have gotten inside the White House. Everyone is miserable and senior advisors are in a total black hole. Even if you're trying to focus on work, nothing is going to break through or get any acknowledgement from bosses. A high ranking Democratic National Committee official, uh, told Axios quote, the only thing that can really allay concerns is for the President to demonstrate that he's capable of running this campaign. Everything else feels like weakened at Bernie's by his inner circle to prop him up. Now, the report goes on to state that there are three individuals, um, deputy Chief of Staff, Annie, Tomasini Aid, Ashley Williams, and First Lady Joe Biden's, top advisor, Anthony Bernal and one Source said, Annie, Ashley and Anthony create a protective bubble around potus.
He's staffed so closely that he's lost all independence. POTUS relies on staff to nudge him with reminders of who he's meeting, including former staffers and advisors who Biden should easily remember without a reminder from Annie. Now, here's the problem with all of this, right? This is not just related to the poor debate performance at the end of June. This is going on and has been going on according to a lot of people inside the White House for quite some time now. Uh, Biden himself in his recent meeting with the Democratic governor, said, Hey, I just, I need more sleep and I need less work.
That's a concern, guys. Like we, we shouldn't just think that, oh, well, he needs less work to do. Great retire. That's, that's what you do when you hit the point in life when you're like, I just need to not be working so much, and you've got the money and the resources to do it. You retire, you, you don't run for president of the United States. Probably the most stressful job on the planet. I would have to imagine like when the guy doing that job says, I need less work and more sleep. You don't hire him for another four years. I'm sorry. Now listen, before you get off at me, by the way, if I go to the polling station in November and the name on that Democratic slot is Joe Biden, I will vote for him. I will absolutely still be voting for Joe Biden if he is on that ticket. And no, that does not make me a hypocrite. It makes me a person who understands how dangerous what's on the other side is 'cause I'm sure not voting for Donald Trump, and I'm not gonna vote for Brain Worm Kennedy, and I'm certainly not gonna sit out the election, and I
Don't think anybody should sit out this election. Do I think Biden will make it to the end of the next four years? No, I don't. Am I okay with Kamala Harris becoming president of the United States? Yes, I am not a huge fan of her based on her time as ag in California, but she's again, still a hell of a lot better than everybody else on the other side. The point is, we have time to fix this. We don't have much time, but we got a little bit. And it's one thing for Biden to be having these conversations, you know, with the donors conversations, with the Democratic governors, with the DNC, but it's all happening behind closed doors. These need to be open and honest public conversations with the rest of the people in the Democratic Party, the voters.
We need to have a say in this, and they're not listening to us. And that's the problem. Again, if he's still on the ballot, by God, I'm gonna vote for him. I'm not gonna be thrilled with it, but it will be the best choice in that presidential section by a long shot. Even if he's in a coma on election day, he would still be better than anybody else on that ballot. But we shouldn't have to be voting for he's better than everybody else. We should be voting for this person's better than everybody else because of their policies, not because they're not as horrible as the other folks. |
