| Video Discription | Greed and fear are supposed, together with herd instinct, to be the three main emotional motivators of stock markets and business behavior, and one of the cause of bull markets, bear markets and business cycles. The phrase, traditionally used by traders and market commentators, has become a topic of economic research about investor irrationalities. Its effects on market prices and returns contradict, or at least moderate, the efficient market hypothesis. CNN has a "Fear and Greed" index for the market. They use several indicators to attempt to sense how fearful or greedy investors are at the time. They then display their results on a 0-100 scale, 0 being the most fearful and 100 being the most greedy.
