They are the elite of the elites and are fully capable to wreak havoc behind enemy lines and obliterate the enemy. *They are attached to the Parachute Regiment of the Indian Army. The unit's heritage stems from World War II, with the creation of the 50th Parachute Brigade in October 1941. 9 Para SF, raised in 1966 as 9th Parachute Commando Battalion, is the oldest among the eight Para SF units of the Indian Army namely: 1 PARA (SF) 2 PARA (SF) 3 PARA (SF) 4 PARA (SF) 9 PARA (SF) 10 PARA (SF) 11 PARA (SF) 12 PARA (SF) 21 PARA (SF) •Some of the many missions that they are tasked with include: *Special Operations *Direct Action *Hostage Rescue *Counter-Terrorism *Unconventional Warfare *Special Reconnaissance *Foreign Internal Defence and Security *Counter-Proliferation *Counter-Insurgency *Search & Destroy *Personnel Recovery •For knowing how deadly they are in combat roles, you can either check their selection process or have a glimpse over the operations done by them.
