| Video Discription | CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A Cincinnati man was sentenced to more than 16 years in prison for distributing the fentanyl that led to a Campbell County teen's overdose death. Michael Chandler is also ordered to pay more than $9,000 in restitution to cover funeral expenses. Drug task forces from both Campbell County and Hamilton County, as well as the DEA, began investigating after a suspected heroin overdose on April 20, 2016. According to the indictment, the victim was 17-years-old. They learned the overdose was due to fentanyl. They traced the fentanyl back to Chandler. Additional fentanyl purchases were arranged with Chandler the next day. When officers searched Chandler's Lowell Avenue home, they found nearly 644 grams of fentanyl, 28 grams of cocaine, a gun, ammunition and drug paraphernalia. Chandler pleaded guilty to six drug distribution charges in May of 2017. He was sentenced in federal court in November. |
