| Video Discription | Our patient, Lauren, was kind enough to share with us her experience of receiving treatment at Chesapeake Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine. "I guess my story... I came for fertility treatments, just to increase my family's chance of conceiving and was recommended to try acupuncture treatments. Which wasn't something I had really thought was an option, outside of what we normally know about fertility treatments. And that brought me to this facility. My husband and I had been trying for 3 or 4 months at the time, and just wanted to do everything within the realm of possibility outside of invasive treatments to increase our likelihood of getting pregnant . Within about 2 months of being seen here, it was successful for us. I think the atmosphere and feel of the clinic is very welcoming. When you come in, all the staff is always so kind and remembers who you are; knows your name. Ultimately, it was just always very relaxing for me to come here to receive treatments. I really felt like I was part of a group that cared about me and my progress. I felt like Dr. Smithmyer was a very conscientious doctor throughout my care. From the onset of meeting her, she really cared about my story, what my goals were. Even in every single appointment, asked me if there was anything else that I wanted, or was always willing to talk about increasing my treatments, looking at other options. She is just very invested in her patients and making sure that they're getting everything that they want out of their treatments here. For me personally, I've noticed, obviously the benefit of getting pregnant, that was the ultimate goal for my family coming here. After a few months of treatments, we were successful. I also had received treatments just to reduce my stress and anxiety during the pregnancy. I do think that that was really beneficial for me. I would say that my overall experience has been really positive. I've really enjoyed coming to my appointments and taking some time to focus on me, and my health, and my journey, specifically with pregnancy and fertility. Overall, I've definitely really enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyone that's looking for a less invasive alternative on their fertility journey. I think what I liked most was just how personal my experience was here. Even though there were typical treatments that might be done for certain fertility cases, it was always very, very specific to me, my needs, my cycle, what was going on that day. Even if it changed over the course of several months. That was very special to me.. how personal my treatment was and my care here. I would definitely recommend this clinic to my family and friends. The staff has been so welcoming, and Dr. Smithmyer has just been such a gracious addition to my fertility journey and within these treatments that I really have nothing to complain about, and wouldn't say anything but great things about the staff and her here."
