| Video Discription | The war in Ukraine has seen both countries targeting each other's crucial assets. On July 2, Russia announced the destruction and damage of Ukrainian SU-27 fighter jets at the Myrhorod airfield in Poltava. A Russian surveillance drone identified six exposed SU-27s at the airfield. Without protection like camouflage or bunkers, the jets became easy targets. Russia then launched cluster rockets and Iskander-M missiles, resulting in the destruction of five active SU-27s and damage to two under repair. Aerial footage showed explosions and smoke at the airfield. Ukraine's former Air Force speaker Yuriy Ignat confirmed the strike but accused Russia of exaggerating the damage. Forbes' David Ax noted that six SU-27s were targeted, with two destroyed and four damaged.
