This tutorial goes over an example problem for the moment area method that has a cantilever beam with a non-constant EI. Problems with non-constant flexural rigidity end up having pretty funky looking M/EI diagrams, but of you draw it correctly, then the process is otherwise the same as problems with a constant EI.
