| Video Discription | Spoilers up to episode 8! Just when you think you're out they pull you back in! Somehow I always return to kdramas and I am so happy that after nearly a decade of viewership there are still unique and complex and compelling dramas coming out that I have to watch and this drama is no exception. Moon Chae Won has long been one of my favorite (dare I say, very favorite) kdrama actresses so when I realized she was in this with Lee Joon Gi (who I personally love from Arang and the Magistrate, though I know most of his fans hale from elsewhere) I had to watch- even when I initially thought LJG was going to be some kind of Dexter like serial killer. Oh, how very wrong I was! Instead he's innocent of EVERYTHING (ignore the kidnapping) and just wants to live his happy domestic life with his wife and daughter! This drama absolutely must end with the reunification of this family unit, the writers are simply not allowed to let any darkness touch Eun Ha's life, and that means her parents need to rebuild their trust in one another, realize that one of said parents is repressed af due to intense childhood trauma and that actually he is incredibly in love with his wife, just as she is with him and that he just doesn't know how to express it yet! Okay, anyway, I may have digressed a bit above but if you're still reading you're lovely. About the vid itself, the first half is from Ji Won's perspective but then it switches a bit after midway to Hyun Su's. The first half of this incredible song is just insanely fitting for all that Ji Won has been enduring, especially after episode 8, but the second half also really fits with Hyun Soo and all he's endured at the hands of not only his serial killing father, but also his neighbors and purported friends, people who have over and over again proven that if he is Hyun Soo-- if he is 'different' -- he will be hated (which kind of explains his deep panic attack causing anxiety over even the possibility of Ji Won finding out his true identity). Overall, I just really need Hyun Su to figure out that Ji Won already knows the truth, so fingers crossed that happens in the next two eps! |
