A psychedelic ditty about a fictional fortune teller, the casting-off of social hang-ups and anxieties and a search for the truth, however you wish to find it. Inspired, amongst other things, by ‘The Portobello Road Experience’ (if you don’t already know that story you’d probably enjoy it) and brought to life by our artistic partner in crime Sophie Panteli, Sugar Plum Mary has become a fan favourite. Written and demoed in July 2019 and released in the golden period between Lockdowns #1 and #2, by a band that today is barely recognise: a partially-different line up, never played a live gig together… and Jordan only owned one velvet Jacket! Disgusting. Well, it’s been a wild ride since then... and they sincerely thank each and everyone of you for joining them. They can now say that Sugar Plum Mary has been exhibited in such exotic locations as……Leeds, Nottingham, Norfolk, Somerset as well as a multitude of London’s finest pubs and clubs. As The Stylus Method enters yet another new era, what better way to celebrate 5 years of the birth of a song than a new ‘2024 edition’ of Sugar Plum Mary? Featuring a factory-fresh vocal, percussive embellishments from Mr Oliver Wells Esq., an alternate clarinet solo from the Electrical Wizard Jamie Farnell, a B-Side surprise and a behind-the-scenes look at the animation creation...enjoy. |
