| Video Discription | This case is more about the unsuitability of the old mobile phone law as it stood back in April 2021. Nowadays Frank would likely have had no defence under the new law that came into effect on March 25th 2022. I'm not particularly bothered that Frank got off - the publicity must have been at least a little painful for him. Regardless of his innocence under the law, driving like this, in my opinion, does not look at all good. It's a pyrrhic victory for him. I'm much more interested in the process of catching and prosecuting phone drivers - if the process is working well, that's what is most important. I do slightly regret not staying at the nearside passenger window, as I might have gotten better quality of evidence by doing that. I went back to the driver's side in the hope of getting a shot of the phone screen with an active call on it, but that is not visible in this video. Oh, and my friend and his mum are both happy that I post that short live photo on here. I made sure to check with both of them. They are really nice people and mean a lot to me. I did have to ask him please to not tell Frank who I was, which he didn't. Frank did seem to be looking at me quizzically. I wonder if he recognised me? Also I withdraw the "What a dipstick" comment given how kind Frank was and how much extra time he spent with my friend. He clearly recognised that my friend has special needs.
